Privacy policy
How DWP Digital collects, uses and protects personal data under Malaysia's PDPA.
Overview
DWP Digital collects personal data through this website, mainly when you fill in the contact form. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights you hold under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (the PDPA).
This policy was last updated on 28 August 2026 and applies to dwpdigital.com.my.
Who we are.
This website is operated by DWP Digital Sdn Bhd, a B2B digital marketing agency based in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. DWP Digital Sdn Bhd acts as the data controller under the PDPA, as amended in 2024, for the personal data described in this policy. Any question about personal data can be sent to hello@dwpdigital.com.
What personal data we collect.
We collect the details you type into our contact form: your name, work email address, company name, phone number if you provide one and your message. We also keep the contents of any correspondence that follows and standard analytics data about how visitors use this site.
The analytics data covers the pages visited, the referring site and the type of browser and device used, as well as an approximate location derived from your IP address. We review it in aggregate to understand how the site is used. We do not use it to build profiles of individual visitors.
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Please do not send sensitive personal data, such as health or financial information, through the form. It is not needed for an enquiry.
How we use your data.
We use personal data for the following purposes: replying to your enquiry, preparing and following up on a proposal and delivering services if you become a client. We also keep proper business records and review how this website performs so we can improve it.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you sent an enquiry. If we introduce a newsletter later, subscribing will be a separate opt-in.
Our legal basis under the PDPA.
We process personal data with your consent, which you give when you submit the contact form. We also process it where that is necessary to perform a contract with you or to take steps you have asked for beforehand, such as preparing a proposal.
In line with the PDPA’s General Principle and Notice and Choice Principle, we collect only what the purposes above require, and we state those purposes at the point of collection. You may withdraw your consent at any time, as described under Your rights below.
How long we keep your data.
We keep personal data only for as long as the purpose it was collected for requires. Enquiry data is retained for up to 24 months after our last exchange and then deleted, unless the enquiry has become a client relationship.
Client records are kept for the duration of the engagement, and afterwards for as long as Malaysian law requires business and tax records to be retained. Aggregate analytics data does not identify you and may be kept longer for reporting.
Cookies.
This site uses cookies and similar techniques, mainly so that analytics can distinguish one visit from another. We do not use cookies to follow you across other websites. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the site will continue to function.
Your rights under the PDPA.
Under the PDPA you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you and to correct it. You may also withdraw your consent to processing and prevent processing that is likely to cause you damage or distress or that is carried out for direct marketing.
The 2024 amendment to the PDPA, in force from June 2025, adds a right to data portability. You may ask us to transfer the personal data we hold about you to another data controller you name, and we will do so where that is technically feasible and the data formats are compatible.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@dwpdigital.com with your request and enough detail for us to locate your records. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We respond to access and correction requests within 21 days, as the PDPA requires, and we do not charge for reasonable requests. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may raise the matter with the Personal Data Protection Commissioner, the Malaysian authority responsible for the PDPA.
Changes to this policy.
We update this policy when our practices, our providers or the law change, and the date at the top of this page shows the version currently in force. Material changes are noted on this page, and active clients are told directly.
