Marketing as a Service for B2B Companies in Malaysia

One senior team running every digital channel you need, on one monthly fee.

Marketing as a Service gives B2B companies one senior team on one monthly marketing retainer.

Overview

Most B2B companies end up choosing between someone who writes the marketing plan and someone who does the work. Marketing as a Service is an integrated marketing programme delivered on one monthly retainer: DWP Digital supplies a senior pod that runs strategy, the digital channels in scope and the creative production behind them for B2B companies in Malaysia. We agree the scope in writing before work starts, and one report closes every month.

Five channels, one marketing manager, no cover.

A single marketing manager can own the brief, the internal relationships and one or two channels properly. Ask the same person to run search, content, social, paid campaigns and the website, and something quietly stops happening. Usually it is the measurement, and then it is the plan. All three figures measure US and North American marketing teams, so read them as a benchmark rather than as Malaysian data.

We do not replace that person. One pod surrounds the role with the specialists it would otherwise take four hires to assemble.

Nobody hands a brief to another department.

03

Every month has to produce four things.

Strategy decides what matters, the channels carry it, production makes what those channels need, and reporting records what actually happened against the plan. All four sit inside one scope, agreed in writing before work begins, so no part of it arrives as a separate invoice.

  • 01

    Strategy

A strategist owns positioning, messaging and the quarterly plan, and decides which channels carry which priority. Direction stays with you.

  • 02

    Channel management

Digital specialists run the channels in scope, from search and content through to social and paid campaigns. The same people plan the work, publish it and answer for it.

  • 03

    Content and creative production

Copy, campaign assets, sales decks and video produced inside the retainer by the same pod, so what we publish matches the plan it came from.

  • 04

    Analysis and reporting

An analyst owns the numbers and closes each month with one written report covering activity, channel results and the enquiries recorded.

AI tools help with research, drafting and analysis. A specialist reviews every output before it goes anywhere, which our about page sets out in full.

04

Your retainer month, from scope to report.

Every month follows the same four stages: Scope, Plan, Build and Report. Priorities move within the agreed capacity, so effort can go to a campaign one month and sales collateral the next without a change of contract. The quarterly review resets the scope itself.

  1. 01

    Scope

What the quarter has to achieve and how we will measure it, set against the plan and reset at the quarterly review. Anything new goes in writing first.

  2. 02

    Plan

Priorities for the month, sequenced against that scope, so it starts from a written list of what matters most and what can wait.

  3. 03

    Build

We write, design, publish and run the agreed activity, revisions included, as long as they fit inside the agreed monthly capacity.

  4. 04

    Report

One report closes the month, covering activity, channel results and enquiries recorded, read against the plan rather than one channel at a time.

A scoped proposal follows a short call about your targets and what marketing runs today.

With a marketing manager, or without one.

Both cases work, and they split the roles differently. Where a marketing manager owns the brief and the internal relationships, the pod supplies the specialist skills around that role. Where no marketing team exists, the pod carries the agreed digital scope and reports to your management.

Our strategist takes direction from whatever senior leadership is in place, whether that is a marketing director, a fractional CMO or neither.

If you need a named-account layer, account-based marketing runs inside the same retainer, on one plan and one reporting cycle.

06

Creative production sits inside the retainer, not beside it.

One pod wrote the plan, and the same pod designs the campaign assets, builds the sales decks, edits the video and writes the copy, so no brief goes out to people who have to learn your brand first. A senior designer signs off every piece before release.

A deck needed for a pitch joins a queue held by the team already on your account. We do not sell any of this separately.

That constraint is the reason the work stays consistent.

Creative support is only available as part of the marketing programme. We do not sell design, decks or video on their own.

07

Who Marketing as a Service is for, and who it is not.

Marketing as a Service suits B2B, technology and industrial companies in Malaysia and the region with trading revenue, a defined offer and only part of the marketing skill set in-house. We do not build it for early-stage startups still testing what they sell.

It works alongside your own management and sales teams rather than replacing them. Our B2B marketing services page describes the individual channels.

One accountable partner, not five.

Built for B2B companies with trading revenue, a defined offer and only part of the marketing skill set in-house.

08

Eight services in scope, four in most opening plans.

Marketing as a Service draws on the same eight services we sell individually, and any of them can sit inside the retainer. Most opening plans start with the four below. Website design, Google Ads, LinkedIn and Generative Engine Optimisation join the scope when the plan gives them a job.

  • 01 SEO Technical, content and authority work as three streams, starting with an audit and a prioritised plan that is yours to keep.
  • 02 Content marketing Strategy, writing and design from one senior team, producing the articles, whitepapers and LinkedIn pieces buyers read before they will talk to anyone.
  • 03 Social media marketing Corporate channels planned around the audiences you need to reach, produced to your brand system and published only after your approval.
  • 04 Performance marketing Paid media across Google, LinkedIn and Meta, planned from the enquiry your sales team wants and reported on qualified enquiries.

Frequently asked questions about the retainer.

Commercial terms go into writing before any work starts, and the questions below cover what that document settles: pricing, ownership and what the monthly fee does and does not include. They are the same points we walk through on a scoping call.

Does the retainer cover planning as well as execution?

Yes. A strategist sets the marketing plan, and the same pod writes, designs, publishes and reports against it. Planning and delivery sit inside one scope, reviewed each month and revised at the quarterly review. Nobody hands you a strategy document and leaves you to find someone who can deliver it.

What sets the size of a Marketing as a Service retainer?

Scope, not a rate card. How many channels run and how much you publish each month set the fee, so it fits your programme rather than a package. After a scoping call we propose a fixed monthly retainer against that plan. Media budget never sits inside it.

Who owns the accounts, data and creative work?

You do. Advertising accounts and analytics properties sit in your company’s name, along with the social profiles we run, and finished creative files come to you as part of the retainer. If the engagement ends, those accounts and files stay with you.

Does the retainer include advertising budget?

No. You pay media budget directly to the advertising platforms, from your own accounts. Our retainer covers strategy, production, channel management and reporting, and the fee never includes or finances ad spend. That keeps platform costs visible in accounts you control.

Can we buy the creative production on its own?

No. Design, deck, video and copy support run only inside the marketing programme, because their job is to keep it consistent. If standalone creative output is what you need, a retainer is the wrong engagement and we will say so on the first call.
